About the play: While honeymooning with their new spouses, divorced couple Elyot and Amanda discover that they are staying in adjacent rooms at the same hotel, and their passionate love for one another is rekindled. This cynical comment on love and marriage is characterised by Coward’s trademark witty dialogue, and we see Elyot and Amanda run off to Paris, only to discover that their love is based on a mutual craving for violent arguments and physical brawls.
